For oil stains on granite counters, simply apply to the surface in 1/4"-3/8" thickness and cover with plastic. Leave plastic for 72 hours. Remove plastic and allow material to dry completely on the surface. Once dry scrape or scrub off and evaluate. It may be necessary to repeat the process to insure full removal. Many times you can remove a stain by simply applying a layer of poultice to the surface and leaving it to dry.
